Methods

There are different types or preparation systems ballet studies, the main four, plus three major products:

Russian: Vaganova method, the ballet teacher Agrippina Vaganova (1879-1951).
Italiano: Enrico Cecchetti.
French.
Danish: August Bournonville (1805-1879).
And as methods derived:

English: Royal (Royal Academy of Dance). Based on the Vaganova method
U.S.: Based in the tradition of Russian Ballet (originally Fokine and Balanchine, in the mid-twentieth century Russian masters of the Vaganova school.
